Architectural Inspiration

Fashion itself often lacks innovation. To create any successful fashion collection, designers do a huge amount of work and research. A wide range of sources are needed for inspiration. They explore all areas, from product design to architecture and are interested in reading all types of literature: novels, biographies, business, technology and financial information. One of Ralph Lauren's most popular quotes is: "I don't design clothes, I design dreams." This proves that without knowledge and inspiration he would never be able to create his designs. To design a dream, you must first be able to view the world from anothers' perspective, thus, you need a great vision.
While I was back in Cyprus, I designed and made these black beauties: a pixel cut skirt and a shoulder cut out crop-top, inspired by modern architecture and minimalism.

Here are the inspirations of some world renowned fashion designers:

Karl Lagerfeld- head designer and creative director of Chanel, Fendi and his own label.

For Karl "less is more" and "Nothing is more modern than the oldest shapes of the history of the world – not of humans. The shapes of the sea are very modern and very inspiring. The shapes of the fishes, they are unbelievably modern."

Donna Karan- creator of DKNY

Her inspiration is extraordinarily simple; if she needs a particular item of clothing—a bodysuit, a wrap skirt, a chiffon blouse, a longer jacket— then every other woman needs it too.

Giorgio Armani- Fashion Designer

He bases every collection on different things. His most recent inspirations were : the sea and the architecture of Paris.
